French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker Review
French-door refrigerators are a perfect blend of form and function. They have elegant double doors that open to reveal an enormous fridge on top and a freezer drawer below. Special features like door-to-door dispensers, higher-end ice machines and adjustable flex drawers make them stand out from the rest.
We asked experts like Ladina Schopf, interior designer architect, founder, and co-founder of LS Projects, for tips on how to select the best one. They looked at the storage capacity, layout, and energy efficiency among other aspects.
GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
As the name suggests, GE's Profile series is targeted at the consumer who wants to incorporate cutting-edge technology into their kitchen. This fridge is loaded with features, from an in-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a clever water dispenser. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Given that this fridge costs a premium, I expect higher quality.
Apart from that minor flaw however, this refrigerator is a fantastic choice. It features a large freezer compartment that is not common for counter-depth French-door refrigerators. It also holds a lot of frozen food, which is a big difference from other models.
The fridge has 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment is 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is on the same as an French door fridge that costs this much. It also has an adequate-sized icemaker packed into the left-hand door, although it isn't the largest I've seen.
You can adjust the shelves in both compartments to make the perfect storage solution. The GE PYE22PYNFS's interior design is good-looking, too. The LED lighting is a nice feature and the storage bins feature a third shelf that can fold down to make it possible to store items that are tall. The drawers have temperature controls, so you can set them for Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. The drawers are easy to open and close, but I found the plastic's textured coatings to be a bit rough on my fingers.
The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with the full suite of features you'd expect from a refrigerator in this price range with Wi-Fi and app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app is compatible with iOS and Android devices and allows you to control your refrigerator from any place in the globe. It also has numerous options for customizing. It will also send you notifications when the door is unlocked, when the fridge or freezer requires defrosting, and when the filter needs to be changed.
It is nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS came with Precise Fill it's an option in other GE fridges that allow you to choose how many cups of water you'd like to dispense at a time. It also has a countdown feature on the fridge display to display how much water you have left, but it's not as useful as Precise Fill.

The temperature of the freezer remained constant at just above 0°F and never fluctuated more than a fraction - this is crucial to prevent freezer burn. The fridge's refrigerator section also performed well, reaching the desired initial set temperature within an hour and keeping the temperature constant over the course of our tests.

While the fridge is an incredible appliance but it's important to be aware of the limitations. It has a limited space for shelves, so you may need to be creative when storing tall objects. The shelves are not resistant to spills and are easily stained or damaged by sharp items. The trays can be easily removed from the refrigerator. However, they must be cleaned regularly to prevent the growth of mold.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
The LG LRFLC2706S is a great counter-depth refrigerator that packs a lot of storage into an extremely compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge features a standard French door design, and two rows of shelving with spill-capture and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf to the right can be folded in order to create more space for tall items. french style fridge freezer 'll also find a full width drawer for deli and an inside water dispenser.

Smart InstaView panel is a cool feature of the refrigerator. It lets you control the temperature of your fridge, lighting, and more via your smartphone. It's a simple method to keep track of your refrigerator and manage it, especially when not at home.

Although the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it does not necessarily improve the overall performance of the refrigerator. In fact it took longer to defrost and chill food in this fridge as compared to other fridges we tested. french door fridge freezer is likely due to the bigger capacity.
The doors are another problem with this refrigerator. They have handles that are sunken on the front, which allow shorter people to easily pull them open from the bottom, however they're difficult for taller people to steer closed without slamming the doors. It would have been much better if they had front-mounted handles.
The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a excellent option for those looking to combine the advantages of a fridge with a French door with a more efficient layout. Its capacity is superior for a counter-depth model, and it cools evenly and has a good layout. It's also less expensive than the best counter-depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, which can make it a desirable choice.
french door refrigerator freezer is a great choice for those looking for a French-door fridge that doesn't break the budget. It's a simple fridge which may not be as eye-catching like some of its competitors however, it does have enough features to make a good choice. Its most important feature, the adjustable temperature drawer, helps to keep food items such as vegetables and meat fresher for longer. It also has a large ice maker as well as a water dispenser.
The "Chill Drawer", which sits over the two crisper bins, is another nice feature. The drawer lets you direct the majority of the fridge's cooling power into this area so that you can keep food items which need extra attention. This feature can be adjusted by using a slider on the outside of the drawer. You can also alter the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've found that the general settings are more effective than the specific ones.
In my tests, I found that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent in different areas of the fridge. The temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn't vary much from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within a degree of 36. This is a great performance however it doesn't make it into the top ten in our ratings.
This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. The fridge can be linked with a smart thermostat in order to obtain more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.
The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's exterior is made of stainless steel with a grey-bodied body which has a "smudge-proof" finish. It wards off streaks and fingerprints better than other stainless steel finishes I've tried.
